Validated badges for added recognition

The word “validated” in any of our badges indicates that the badge was obtained through an activity that required Photo ID verification. For example, after passing a validated exam, you can earn a  validated badge. Validated exams are proctored fee-based exams at selected BDU Ambassador venues.

Validated badges provide added recognition and proof of knowledge because validated exams are written in a rigorous proctored environment, after verifying the identity of the examinee with a valid government-issued document with a photo. Validated badges are typically offered only for level 2 and onwards badges, and they indicate the earner has the same level of expertise as a non-validated earner, only that his skills have been validated.

At the moment, IBM is the main issuer of our badges.

Showcasing your badges

Once you earn a badge, you can share it anywhere you like online or offline. Our badges are often shared on resumes, LinkedIn profiles, and social media.

Badges vs. Completion Certificates

BDU offers Badges and Completion Certificates as a way to recognize achievements by a learner. Completion Certificates are offered for any course that is passed.  Badges, however, show progression and are only offered after passing different requirements as explained in earlier sections.  In many situations, you will receive both, a badge and a completion certificate.

When you earn a validated badge at a selected Ambassador venue, you also receive a validated completion certificate.
